Las actrices Sarah Jessica Parker y Taraji P. Henson fueron las encargadas, este miercoles en la mañana, de revelar las nominaciones de la nueva edición de los Golden Globe Awards, las estatuillas otorgadas por The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (la Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood), a lo mejor del cine y la televisión tanto en Estados Unidos como a nivel Mundial.

Este año, ‘Mank’, película de Netflix dirigida por David Fincher, lidera las nominaciones con seis candidaturas, incluyendo Mejor Película (Drama), así como Mejor Actor (Gary Oldman) y Mejor Actriz de Reparto (Amanda Seyfried); seguida por ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ con cinco nominaciones, y ‘The Father’, ‘Nomadland’ y ‘Promising Young Woman’ con cuatro, cada una.

En el campo de televisión, ‘The Crown’ dominó las nominaciones con seis candidaturas; mientras que ‘Schitt’s Creek’ —la gran ganadora de las series comedia en los Emmy del año pasado—, obtuvo cinco nominaciones. ‘Ozark’ y ‘The Undoing’ lograron cuatro nominaciones, cada una.

Por su parte, las producciones de nuestro mundo geek no podían faltar entre las nominadas. En la categoría de Mejor Película Animada, ‘Soul’ y ‘Onward’ (ambas de Pixar Animation Studios) se disputan el premio con ‘Over the Moon’ (Netflix), ‘The Croods: A New Age’ (DreamWorks Animation) y ‘Wolfwalkers’ (Cartoon Saloon); y en Mejor Serie Drama, ‘The Mandalorian’, ‘Lovecraft Country’ y ‘Ratched’ compiten con ‘The Crown’ y ‘Ozark’.

Y aunque hubo gratas sorpresas como la presencia de tres mujeres en la categoria de Mejor Director, Emerald Fennell, Regina King y Chloé Zhao por ‘Promising Young Woman’, ‘One Night in Miami’ y ‘Nomadland’, respectivamente; también hubo extrañezas (¿‘Emily in Paris’?, ¿James Corden por ‘The Prom’?) y decepciones como las notorias ausencias de Steven Yeun y Delroy Lindo por sus actuaciones en ‘Minari’ y ‘Da 5 Bloods’, respecitvamente, y las de series como ‘What We Do In The Shadows’, ‘I May Destroy You’ y ‘Bridgerton’.

La entrega número 78 de los Golden Globe Awards será presentado por Tina Fey y Amy Poehler, desde sus respectivas ciudades: Fey estará en vivo desde el Rainbow Room de Nueva York, Poehler estará en vivo desde el Hotel Beverly Hilton, de Los Ángeles, y los nominados, desde varios lugares del mundo.
